"Pick your enemies carefully or you'll never make it in Los Angeles." - Rona Barrett A House Divided is a MUSH based on Vampire: The Masquerade. The setting is modern Los Angeles, a sprawling metropolis with over 15 million mortals and scores of undead who hunt them. Upon this canvass, our goal is to create the finest, most engaging and politically complex Vampire MUSH in the world. "How are you different from the other White Wolf MUSHes on the net?" * We focus *only* on the setting of Vampire: the Masquerade; we don't even bother trying to fold in the other World of Darkness games. * We have a streamlined role-play system designed to take advantage of the MUSH environment. Everything you need to play is available online. * We have an extensive stat-locked lore system that provides ample surprises and mysteries for the most jaded of players. * We support cooperative RP - a philosophy that draws on the maturity of the players to provide realistic and player-driven role-play. * Any player can play _one_ neonate level vampire; it's a Vampire MUSH. Ghouls and mortals are more freely available. Older vampires are application-only. * Our focus is Camarilla society, with its politics and intrigue. While mortal society is present as a backdrop, our MUSH revolves around vampires.

getting a character 

To get a character of your own, and stop using a guest, see '+help
  ooc/request'. The +request command will create a character for you. Follow 
  the instructions to get a character object. The command requires an email 
  address. If you're worried about privacy, see '+news Policies/privacy'.

To turn your character object into a character approved for role-play, please
  review '+news Applications'. Please note that players who wish to play a 
  Neonate Vampire or a Mortal need only enter Chargen and follow the 
  directions through the end of that character generation process, which is 
  highly automated.

This MUSH is based on the Vampire: the Masquerade role-play system and the
  World of Darkness created by White Wolf. Therefore, we recommend some level 
  of familiarity with White Wolf's source material:

	Vampire: The Masquerade (core rulebook - either 2nd or 3rd Edition)
	Guide to the Camarilla
	Mind's Eye Theatre Rulebook / Laws of the Night

If you can't read one of these, we strongly suggest that you play a mortal or
  very young vampire in order to learn through experience.

That said, please note that we are -not- using White Wolf's backstory
  resources as our own. Many things that you read in the rulebooks are not 
  going to hold true on this MUSH. See '+news Theme/White Wolf'. Given our 
  significant departure from White Wolf's backstory and systems, we have made 
  extraordinary efforts to ensure that everything you need to play the game
